"Het is altijd een uitdaging om zelf als kunstenaar een interpretatie te maken van het werk van een andere kunstenaar, dus ben ik op zoek gegaan naar de kern van wat Paul doet in zijn werk. Hij vertelde in een gesprek dat hij omgevingen en sferen vangt in zijn schilderijen. Meestal zijn het onderwerpen rondom natuur en locaties van vakanties.

Daar wilde ik iets mee doen; het vangen van omgevingen. Dit was dan ook de inspiratie voor het visuele concept. Een omgeving dat in een moment in de tijd gevangen word. Doordat er zich een lijst omheen krult komt het beeld tot stilstand. Hier heb ik met mijn eigen illustratieve handschrift een vorm aan gegeven en in beweging gebracht met frame voor frame animatie."

In a conversation, he mentioned that he captures environments and atmospheres in his paintings. Most often, these are subjects related to nature and vacation locations.
I wanted to build on that idea; the capturing of environments. This became the inspiration for the visual concept: an environment frozen in a moment in time. By having a frame curl around it, the image comes to a standstill. I then shaped this with my own illustrative style and brought it to life through frame-by-frame animation."
